Conceiving a levitating presentation
I conceived and designed a levitating helmet display for the $40,000 Zero-G project, applying an existing Crealev magnetic system to a custom presentation base. My scope included the display concept, CAD and physical design, with recommendations for materials, finishes and lighting.
I developed the base around the intended levitation effect and product presentation. Fabrication was handled separately; the magnetic technology was supplied by Crealev.

Designing around the levitation effect
The floating helmet was the central presentation idea. My contribution was applying an existing magnetic technology to the display and designing the surrounding base, rather than developing the levitation technology itself.
Applying an existing magnetic system
I proposed the use of Crealev’s levitation technology and designed the surrounding display base. I also recommended materials and lighting; fabrication was handled separately.

Resolving the complete display
I developed the base as a complete product presentation, coordinating its form with the helmet’s suspended position. I recommended materials and lighting to focus attention on the levitation effect and connect the physical display with the intended visual experience.

Developing the base in CAD
I developed the base in CAD, translating the display concept into a defined physical design. This brought the presentation idea into the technical work needed to move the project toward fabrication.

Detailing the base components
I developed the base components in CAD and considered how their proportions and surfaces would support the helmet presentation. My material and lighting recommendations accompanied that design work.

Communicating the display design
I used the CAD design and presentation visuals to communicate the base’s intended form, component relationships and finish direction. Fabrication was carried out separately from my concept and design work.

Presenting the helmet in context
The helmet provides the product context for my display design. My contribution covered the Crealev application concept, custom-base CAD, physical presentation, and recommendations for materials and lighting.
